Installation Information
What to expect before, during, and after your appointment.
Every vehicle and installation is different. Most appointments proceed as planned, but hidden vehicle conditions, incomplete parts, or previous modifications can sometimes affect the work required.
If anything unexpected is discovered, we’ll explain the issue and discuss your options before additional work is performed.
48 Hours Before Your Appointment
We will send you an appointment reminder 2 days before your installation. This reminder will be accompanied with a Vehicle Preparation Checklist catered to your specific install.
Before We Begin
When we arrive, we’ll confirm the vehicle and product information, inspect the visible condition of the work area, and review the Work Authorization with you before installation begins.
Please provide a safe, level, off-street work area with sufficient room around the vehicle. Any required cargo or interior areas must be cleared before the appointment.
Hidden Vehicle Conditions
Some conditions may not become visible until panels, covers, or existing hardware are removed. These can include:
-
Rust or corrosion
-
Seized or damaged fasteners
-
Previous repairs
-
Aftermarket modifications
-
Missing or damaged factory hardware
If additional labour, parts, or procedures are required, we’ll pause and obtain your approval before continuing.
Customer-Supplied Products
We’re happy to install products you have purchased from another retailer or manufacturer.
Please confirm that the product is intended for your vehicle’s exact year, make, model, and trim, and ensure that all hardware and instructions are included.
Peninsula Hitch does not provide warranty coverage for customer-supplied products and is not responsible for incorrect fitment, missing hardware, or manufacturing defects.
Electrical Components
Trailer-wiring systems will be function-tested when installation is complete.
Electrical components may later be damaged by conditions including:
-
Water intrusion, including pressure washing directly at connectors
-
Mud, road debris, or impacts
-
Corrosion
-
Overloading
-
Off-road use
-
Subsequent vehicle modifications
-
Collisions or other accidental damage
Damage caused after installation by external conditions is not considered a workmanship issue.
Installation Time
Installation times are estimates. Hidden vehicle conditions, missing or incompatible parts, previous modifications, or unsuitable weather may require additional time or rescheduling.
If the expected timing or cost changes, we’ll discuss it with you before proceeding.
When the Installation Is Complete
Once the work is finished, we’ll inspect the installation, test applicable functions, and review the completed work with you.
We’ll also explain any relevant product-use or maintenance information and answer your questions before leaving.
Our Standard
Our goal is to complete every installation safely, professionally, and in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications while keeping you informed throughout the process.
